Adding Images to Your Web Pages

You’re probably going to want to have a few pictures or graphics on your web pages.

It’s easy to do, but you must remember that any images you want to appear on a webpage must be uploaded to your space on your web host account—to the same place where you’re “putting” the web pages you’re making.

For example, imagine that you’re building your webpage on your personal computer, and you insert an image—an image, let’s say, that you had on your computer's "desktop." It will look fine as long as you’re looking at the web page as you work on it inside of Dreamweaver on your personal computer.

However, when you upload that page to your lunarpages account and then look at that page as it appears on the internet, the image will not be there! How come? Because the computers of the World Wide Web don’t have access to the “desktop” of your personal computer—and that’s where the image file is. This is why you have to upload the image to the folder assigned to you at your web host.
